what’s so good about this friday?

Dear God,
Thanks for waking me up. Thanks for bringing me through another year to the most important event in history. This is the day You changed everything. Thank You Jesus! Thank You for my new life. Thank You for taking my place on the cross. Thank You for Your huge sacrifice that is beyond comprehension. Thank You for choosing me to be part of Your family. As I go out today, let everything I do bring glory to Your holy name. Let my words and actions reflect the love You showed me when You willingly came down here and died for me. Forgive me for all my silly pride in thinking I deserve to have people love me. I don’t even know what love is apart from You. I have no right to think I deserve anything from anybody. I need Your help every single day because without You I am undone. Thank You that You have promised to never leave me or forsake me. Thank You that You never change. Thank You that You were obedient to death on a cross so I could be saved. Thank You for Your sunrise. Thank You for Your sunset. Thank You for holding my right hand and leading me the way I should go. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I love You! Praise You! Worship You! Adore You! Jesus! My Savior!

holy thursday…

Today, Jesus was anointed by a woman in Bethany because she loved Him so much. We know this because she is given a place of honor in His Word for her sacrifice.

Today, Judas, who seemed to love the Lord, sold Him out for 30 pieces of silver. We know in the end he didn’t think it was worth it. But what a mistake. How sad it was that he didn’t think he could repent and ask for forgiveness.

Today, Jesus made a new covenant with us that was poured out in His blood. I hope you will think about this and accept this as how much He loves you.

Today, Jesus went to Gethsemane and sweated drops of blood because He was in such agony at what He had to do. The agony did not stop Him. He loves us that much!

Today, Jesus told Peter he would deny Him 3 times. Peter didn’t believe it until it actually happened. Thank God, he didn’t do what Judas did. He repented and returned to the Lord.
