7 weeks in Arizona. Even with a freeway shooter on the loose, I am thankful. It’s my word for 2015.


658. Even though I have lots of fuzzy glochids in my hand, the pain stopped. Sort of.

659. Power is out. Again. Water works though. And the temperature is < 100°.

660. That I can use the symbol buttons to save time typing. Well not really. But I am still thankful for them.


661. A full day of work.

662. Accepting criticism even though it didn’t feel constructive.

663. Learning to accept things I cannot change.


664. Phone call from a friend.

665. Getting through the day without issues.

666. Freeway signs that make me laugh because the wording could have more than one meaning. “For shooting tips call…”


667. Even when I’m sad.

668. Formulating a spiritual battle plan.

669. Choosing to love people who seem unlovable.


670. Getting to work all my hours for the week even though it was a holiday week because I get to work 10 hour shifts.

671. Getting to be the nurse for 2 sweet boys with special needs, to calm them, to see them laugh.

672. Watching the cats stalk each other to play.


673. Watching the cats watch the birds.

674. Climbed Camelback Mountain via Echo Canyon Trail with #1 and got back to the bottom in one piece.

6 weeks in and I’m loving Arizona more and more! I am so thankful! It’s my word for 2015.


637. #2son saw a doctor and is being treated for an infection.

638. Got to do an ORIF of a pelvic fracture for the first time. I’ve waited 22 years for this.

639. Looking forward to tackling the next hike.


640. Successfully hiked Cholla Trail, a first on the first.

641. Meeting a nice woman and her daughter while hiking Cholla Trail.

642. Surviving a major storm when I didn’t think they had major storms in Arizona.


643. Prompt service to take care of wet carpet after storm flooding.

644. The storm blew in Inca doves and black collared doves. I ❤️ birds.

645. Getting out of work early and Finding out the co-workers think I’m nice and nobody is saying anything bad about me.


646. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. Isaiah 9:2

650. Making plans for a day trip with a co-worker.

651. Being asked to extend my contract and getting sent home early. Again.


652. Epic road trips. Sedona red rocks. The. Grand. Canyon! Reindeer on the side of the road! Temperature in the 80s with cool breezes and rain storms and rainbows. What. A. Day!!!

653. Talking about Jesus all day long with a co-worker turned new friend.

654. I cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am for the beauty of Arizona.


655. That I can drive 2 hours north this winter and see snow. Lots and lots of snow!

656. Holiday weekends.

657. Elevation of the south rim of the Grand Canyon is 6800ft. The highest I’ve been on US land yet!

5 weeks in Arizona. I almost fell off a mountain, but I didn’t. I am thankful. It’s my word for 2015. 


616. 90° on the patio and I’m not sweating.

617. Riding the light rail for the 1st time.

618. #1 had a good 1st day at his new job.


619. The bike rack so I could take the bike to work.

620. Not too sure about this OR, but it’s okay because God always has a plan.

621. Mostly cloudy skies meant 97° at 4:30pm and a comfortable bike ride to the train station 9 miles from work so I could ride the rest of the way home beating the dust storm.


622. I didn’t fall into the ravine at Camelback Mountain.

623. I only sustained minor injuries from falling, surface wounds.

624. 2 new pretty cacti for the patio.


625. Waking up after cracking my head pretty hard on a rock on a mountain.

626. Hearing about how many people die or get hurt on that trail makes me even more thankful to be okay.

627. First driving experience through a monsoon.


628. Got to carry the trauma pager.

629. An awesome patient with a not so awesome brain tumor who’s optimism was inspiring to me.

630. Being able to purchase real hiking shoes so maybe I’ll be able to stay upright on my next hike.


631. Apache trail after 27 years.

632. That it hasn’t changed in 27 years!

633. Seeing the Roosevelt Dam.


634. Vision for ministry in Phoenix.

635. The Superstition Mountains.

636. There’s a Miami Arizona.
