The One About The Let Down

Today is the last day of a ten day holiday. And oh what a holiday! I got to reunite with a dear old friend for 7 days of pure adventure in Northern California. Jet lag with a purpose is so much better than anything else. I love adventure! I love exploring places I’ve never been. I do believe it makes me high. High on life is the phrase many folks use. 

We visited Monterey, San Fransisco, Yosemite, Half Moon Bay, Mountain View, Santa Cruz, San Mateo. I got to experience the weather at the coast, the bay, and inland. Asian people are to the Bay Area as Hispanic people are to south Florida. I got to meet a blogging friend I’ve “known” for about 7 years in real life. Simply fantastic! A great roller coaster ride. 

But today. Today the roller coaster has reached the bottom of the hill at top speed. As high as I was just 2 days ago is how low I am today. So I cry. I wait for the roller coaster to come back up to level track, to stabilize, to carry on in a level fashion until the next climb.

What a week. I am so thankful I got spend it with my friend. Thankful. It’s my word for 2015.

350. This part of California is beautiful. Nothing like Southern California. People actually follow traffic laws  

351. The Winchester house with all its strange and maze like rooms.

352. Seeing the Pacific Ocean after 20 years.

354. My friend has recently been declared legally blind but she’s okay and has the best sense of humor about the whole thing. I speak to her about God and Jesus but her heart is very hard. But God. (What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭5-7‬ ESV)

355. Apparently I’m not allergic to cats anymore. 

356. ALCATRAZ!!! On my bucket list since I was 15!

357. So happy someone built San Fransisco with its awesome Rollie coaster hills and cool cable cars and gorgeous bridge and bay and water front.

365. The beauty of Northern California is something I hope I never forget. Hummingbirds, Stellar’s jay, deer, snakes, harbor seals, sea lions, wild flowers, honeysuckle, eucalyptus, avocado, orange tree groves — some of the sights and smells

366. Mountain View, San Mateo, San Fransisco, Monterey, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Bonney Doon Beach, Pigeon Point Lighthouse, ALCATRAZ, San Jose, Yosemite — makes me want to come back for more. So many awesome places still to be seen.

Thankful for a week of good things and a somewhat stable emotional state of being. Thankful for my God who never changes, is always steady, is always faithful to stick with me. Thankful. It’s my word for 2015.

245. Planning for a weekend in the Keys with my cousin and his family.

246. Planning for trip to San Fransisco. Looking forward to seeing Alcatraz and crossing it off my bucket list.

247. My temporary nursing license has arrived from Arizona!

248. Anderson family reunion is going to happen in June!!! 12 weeks!!!

249. That even though certain laws in Numbers seem half written, one sided and unfair to certain people, God is able to help me understand his intentions and ultimate love and mercy for me.

250. And we urge you brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-18

251. That I can encourage my fainthearted favorite #1 son to face his fear of the unknown future, to push past it to come to Arizona and right now, today, in this moment, he’s back onboard!

252. A cool, foggy bike ride.

253. That my salvation is not from works but the finished work of Jesus Christ. So when I blow it ( and I blow it everyday) I trust in that.

254. Today may be Thursday, but it’s like Friday because I have off from work tomorrow.

255. Watching the plans of the Lord unfold in the life of my favorite #2 son and the joy it’s giving him as he pursues hard after Jesus.

256. It’s Friday AND I have the day off AND God IS GOOD!

258. 4 weeks until San Fransisco to hang with my favorite DUDE!!!

259. One more cold front after weeks of semi hot weather.

260. Contentment.

261. 1 week until I get to be in the same place as both of my favorite sons.

262. Getting to work a full shift for weekend differential, but not having to work terribly hard because there were no cases.

263. 58° in sunny south Florida. It’s amazing out there!

264. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” Matthew 21:9
