I love hiking alone. I find it refreshing. But it seems like whenever I announce my plans to hike alone, people get upset or worried. So I don’t make those announcements anymore. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the concern, it’s that the concern usually comes from people who don’t know me very well. The people who know me well, trust my judgment. And if I were a man, no one would bat an eye. Now I’m no feminist, but I’m also not a delicate flower.
