I’m so thankful I can incorporate my one word, thankful, into my favorite Friday activity – Five Minute Friday, which I confess takes longer than five minutes for me to compose because I’m a deep slow thinker, but only takes five minutes to read. That counts, right? This week, the word is season.

Tis the season. The one where the world wants you to gear up. Run hard. Work more. For what? To buy the stuff. That you don’t need. Or want. You only think you need it. Because the advertisement says you need it. But you don’t. You just think you do.

But God. It’s really his season. Immanuel. God comes down. Advent. Let every heart prepare him room. Slow down. Savor. Savior.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Happy Friday!
