Psst. Hey Christian! Yes, I’m talking to you. What do you think about the latest world events? Are you signing petitions in your state demanding your governor to demand our federal government to keep Syrian refugees out of the USA? Are you living in fear or faith?

Oh man, because you know there might be a terrorist who sneaks in pretending to be a refugee. Again. It could happen.

But what about all the mothers, fathers, grandparents, children, babies? What should we say to them? Oh sorry. We know you might be nice and all, but there could be terrorists among you and our lives here are so neat and tidy and filled with fun Christian activities like Christian concerts and movies and game nights and conferences where we worship and talk about all the ways we can change the world. We’re just so busy and fulfilled we don’t want to be worried about you too.

What are you going to do when the reverse is true? When you are the mother, father, grandparent, refugee that needs a safe haven?

I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but if you turn your back on people who need help, don’t be surprised at the consequence. There are always consequences. You reap what you sew and all that.

And don’t forget about the man who was murdered by terrorists on your behalf so you could be free. Because you were one of them, I was one of them. Thank God Jesus didn’t turn his back on me!

“For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:7-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

  1. Such a phenomenal scripture you used here. This is an issue that brings so much debate. My heart wrestles with it too. You did an excellent job of being “in your face with grace.” Haven’t visited you in a long while – I wonder why that is! Good to be here today though. From Lyli’s.
