Getting Over It

So what do you do when the world isn’t safe and things seem to be scary and out of control? Go to the beach! I just can’t be a hermit, although frequently I like the idea. Howard Hughes couldn’t have been that wrong, could he?

I hopped in a landrover with my favorite dates from Friday evening and their mom and dad and Leanne. We went to the beach outside the city. No people, no noise, no crowds, just beach, empty, quiet, lonely, perfect beach.

The sky was overcast, the ocean throwing big brown waves on the shore. What peace to walk along one of the only empty beaches I’ve ever experienced. We sat down, had a picnic lunch, and watched my favorite boys roll around in the water, no threat of them getting lost because they were the only ones there.

It’s been a good day. I will not let the enemy steal my joy anymore! He loses! We win! Here in the power of Christ I stand!
