Where a flash mob of folks spend five minutes all writing on the same topic and then share ‘em over @thegypsymama.
The word this week is view.
It’s official. The hospital is closed up for the 2012-2013 Guinea field service. There were many milestone events. All the patients, but Thieno, were discharged yesterday. Three seniors graduated from high school. Last night we celebrated with them. As we gathered for their reception, I watched Thieno, healthy and strong again, mingle with the crew. I am in awe of what the Lord has done here.
Today, we said goodbye to our 200 amazing day workers. But they are so much more than that. They are our friends. I am privileged to have met them. All day, we celebrated with them and for them. We had lunch. And then we had a ceremony. And then we had and ice cream reception. Finally, we went down the gangway one last time. After many hugs, photos, laughs, and tears, we said our final farewell.
When we were still inside, I took a photo of the crowd from above and thought, I’m looking at a view of heaven. It is utterly beautiful.
