Luke 1:30-31 This may be the best Christmas season I’ve had since I was a small child. I love that I’m in a third world nation without the trappings of commercialism. There’s no rush. There’s no hustle. There’s no mall. There’s no crowd to trample me for the latest gadget to just replace in 6 months. Conakry is a big city with a population as big as Miami, but it’s so different. The bustle of this town includes people calling out greetings as I pass by. There’s an honor and respect for each other that doesn’t exist in big city USA. The ship has become my home. I’m so glad God brought me to this place. I’m going to miss this so much when I leave. Who, but God, would have ever believed a loner like me could come to love a community so much?
