“Where’s your 3:16?” So I showed him my neck.
“How did you know I had one?”
“I just knew.”
“That’s good because I am supposed to shine for Jesus.”
“Oh you sparkle!”
When I walked into CVOR 3 to help circulate, I went up to the patient and just started talking to him. We were in a waiting pattern as anesthesia wasn’t available yet. The first thing this patient said was, “Wow! You have a lot of tattoos!” I told him it was a phase I went through. We just talked about his condition and the surgery he was about to have. He was very medically articulate. I asked him if he was in “the business”. Turns out he went to medical school for 2 years. “What happened with that?” I asked. “I realized I can’t stomach sickness.” He ended up in computers. We just had a very lovely conversation. There was nothing over the top in my behavior. I was just doing what God made me to do, show concern, compassion, and love to the person in front of me. People want to be loved and heard. People want to know they are cared for. When the anesthesiologist arrived, the patient moved to the OR table. As I held the oxygen mask to his face, he asked me, “Where is your 3:16?”
I was completely blown away! I never once mentioned my tattoo. He never saw it until he asked me where it was. Maybe the cross I wear or the I Am Second bracelet hinted that I would have one? In any case, he saw Jesus in me! And God was glorified because I was being who he created me to be, a light shining in the darkness! All glory to God!!!
As you go… can you BREAK a yoke? can you FEED the hungry? can you HELP the homeless? can you CLOTHE the naked? can you SATISFY the afflicted? can you LIFT up a needy brother? will you REFRAIN from cursing? will you GIVE yourself? Yay! That is awesome that you unashamedly shine for Jesus.
I appreciate your challenge at the end. Ouch, you stepped on my toes. That’s good, though! I needed that reminder.

Hello Michele, I love your photo. I looked and looked and saw how many tears you have cried. Yes you give out much because you too, have been hurt much. Just keep shining as the beautiful star you are because you are a light reflecting Him, and you still have many to touch. God Bless, much love Crystal Mary. xxx

When Christ lives in our heart He can’t help but shine through. What a neat experience for you to have. A verbal acknowledgement of Christ living in you.
